Favourite ReReads

If you live in a snow country like me, you know that sometimes on a cold night there is literally nothing better than curling up in some blankets with a book. Whether it’s hardcopy or on your phone like me, it’s the best thing ever. Also my most common way to procrastinate. Sometimes the best thing to do at these times is find a good book to reread. Here’s my list of books I go to the most for rereads. Continue reading “Favourite ReReads”

What Book Made You Into A Reader?

booktalkheader

This is a question I think I saw randomly either scrolling through blog posts or blog post ideas. Either way, it’s a question that has stuck with me ever since I read it. I wish I was better at keeping track of things or I would link to wherever I read this question. But for those of you who know me…I don’t keep track of anything in my life. Ever. Fatal flaw? Perhaps. We are yet to find out. I’ll get back to you guys on that.

Back to the goal of this post and what I am also challenging you guys to do! I challenge you to figure out the book that made you into a reader! What book or series did it? I plan on tagging some people directly I think would have a lot of fun with this at the end maybe. But any book blogger reading this, should definitely take part and link back to me so I can find it and read (part of) what brought you into the magical world of books.

So what book made me into a bookworm?

Back To School: Life In The IB Program

School is painful enough. So what do I do? Add something really difficult to it. Just for shits and giggles.

In short, IB/International Baccalaureate is a school based program meant to challenge students and better prepare them for university. Even allowing them to skip first year courses altogether. And when making the decision to leave my elementary school and go to Nicholson in grade nine, this one the deciding factor.

Tasks Of A Lazy Day

Lazy days are important!

As  I get closer to ever impending adulthood the fact that  I’m supposed to adult more often settles in a bit too. With that I realize; I really won’t get lazy days, or rather the opportunity for them, nearly as often. This brings me to what I believe must be partaken in so that a lazy day is used to its fullest.

So that list… giphy3 Continue reading “Tasks Of A Lazy Day”

Book Turnoffs

Here it is. All those things that make you fall in love with books? Forget about ’em. How about what makes you walk away. Throw the book? Hide it in your closet to never be touched or read again? Here are some of my book turnoffs that have made me do just that.  Continue reading “Book Turnoffs”

What Do We Really Learn In School

What is it that is really taught in school now?

Let’s push aside the classes, the tests, the exams. There’s so much more to it. The first twelve or so years of kids’ lives. I’m going into grade twelve. I’m in the International Baccalaureate program and there is so much more to the life school should be preparing us for.  Continue reading “What Do We Really Learn In School”

Styles of the Kardashians

role-models

What can I say, a young teenager and even I can see role models and their effects on the rest of the population. I’ll be honest here first; I’ve never really kept track of the Kardashians and their show at all. I saw absolutely no reason too. The show seemed pointless, brain numbing and frankly, I would much rather watch some Criminal Minds or Anime.
Of course, that doesn’t mean I can avoid hearing about this famous family on social media, on tv, everywhere. I don’t watch them and yet they are able to appear in my life. Is that a good thing?  Continue reading “Styles of the Kardashians”

Rant: Sleep – Always Slipping Away

I CAN’T WIN

You see, sleep and I have an interesting relationship. And by relationship I mean I get dragged along without a single choice while it does whatever the hell it wants. And my body and mind has to follow and adapt.

I wish I was on the better side of this relationship and gif. Not happening.

Reading A Book By Its Cover

Age old saying that for some reason people relate to other people. I do not get why. Oh yea, that’s right because it doesn’t work with books.

I mean, guys you can tell me not to read a book by its cover all you want, but when I go into Chapters, it will be the first thing that catches my eye sweet heart. Too bad so sad, it is a basic part of being human, we go to what attracts are attention. I have certain kinds of books that do that really well for me and caught me like none other when I first found them. Usually, I can get a pretty sweet read out of it too.

For example: 13084206_1046260402133408_917569392_n Continue reading “Reading A Book By Its Cover”
