Book Turnoffs

Here it is. All those things that make you fall in love with books? Forget about ’em. How about what makes you walk away. Throw the book? Hide it in your closet to never be touched or read again? Here are some of my book turnoffs that have made me do just that.  Continue reading “Book Turnoffs”

August Summary

I seem to be at least a few days late posting this monthly wrap ups every time. Bad habit Shayla. But I probably won’t fix it.

Anyways. My summer is over! I have 4 days left before handing myself over to school for my last year of high school. So what’s happened this month?  Continue reading “August Summary”

Three Realistic Goals I Would Like To Achieve In My Lifetime

Prompts are fun and this one is pretty good. So three goals? Let’s see what I’ve got.

The first beyond any doubt and without much necessary thought is having a book published.
So this one is pretty straightforward. I mean this is originally a book blog after all, books, stories, writing; it’s my life. I simply wouldn’t be the same Continue reading “Three Realistic Goals I Would Like To Achieve In My Lifetime”

The “I Messed Up” Book Tag

Thanks for the tag from Michelle @ Addictively Turning Pages I loved reading yours and this is going to be interesting I hope.

A character appearance that you misread or imagined differently

…Considering it’s a character appearance that I missed I no doubt have more than I realize so let me think this one through. Cause I’m really not sure about this…

Wait I remember one now! Nehemia from the Throne of Glass series. I kind of pictured her either as one of those golden brown haired girls with tanned skin or I went in the opposite direction with white hair. Nope turns out according to Throne of Glass Wikia she has dark hair kept in small braids, brown eyes and dark skin. Wayyyyy off there Shayla.

In my defence though, I have a habit of switching the way I imagine them pretty often actually, especially when it comes to re-reading. As I re-read, I re-imagine as well.

A character name that you’ve been pronouncing wrong

Rhysand. Again we are back to Sarah J. Maas, lady you are killing me! It’s pronounced Rees-sand meanwhile I pronounce the beginning like rise so rise-and. I can’t help it! Don’t even bother me about having a rant about this book and then tripping over the name.

Then give me a name like Adelina Amouteru  from the Young Elites series and I am perfectly fine. Not a single hitch

The Struggle To Talk

I want to begin something I planned for this blog from the very beginning when my first one finished and this one began about six months later.

Now I’m well into my third month and I guess it’s time I get myself to talk about it because it really is important to me. The subject at hand? Mental health as people like to put it. Or, my brain not quite working right in producing its chemicals. Or struggling with depression and anxiety. You can put any name on it you want to I guess. The name shouldn’t matter should it? It’s just what I’m going through in my mind, in my life. But it’s also what who knows how many others go through and more, worse.  Continue reading “The Struggle To Talk”

How To Know When To Pull The Plug On Social Network

Now this one is for everyone in this day and age out there. Any of you reading this right now are doing it at this very moment. Taking part and living social network. Maybe not to an extreme but you’re doing it. And to me, social networks are amazing. Love them so much. Blogging in particular is such a beautiful kind of release for me that I have no idea how I’d live without it. I’m sure there are many others out there like that too.

Nonetheless, there is always that limit to how much we should be taking part of it. Here are a few signs for when you should pull that plug.  Continue reading “How To Know When To Pull The Plug On Social Network”
